(*) The role of ultrasound to measure liver fibrosis ARFI
ARFI is a new elastomeric ultrasound method that is trusted and appreciated by the American and European Hepatobiliary Association with an accuracy of up to 80% compared with the gold standard. Currently, CarePlus is the first international clinic in HCMC that owns the machine. Roles and outstanding features of ultrasound machines integrated ARFI:
ARFI provides professional support to the gastroenterology & hepatobiliary specialists in diagnosis, prognosis, monitoring, and treatment of chronic liver disease and cirrhosis. In particular, ARFI can accurately diagnose the stage of cirrhosis. Cirrhosis progresses through four stages. If the doctors know exactly what level, they find it easier to develop an appropriate monitoring and treatment plan.
A non-invasive ultrasound technique, minimizing unwanted effects such as bleeding, pain after the biopsy.
ARFI can perform both abdominal ultrasound and tissue elasticity measurement, performed in obese patients, patients with thick abdominal walls, abdominal fluid (the subjects that the Fibroscan can not detect)
