Most of us often try to hide the problem of hair loss by changing our hairstyle, buying hair restoration products, adding vitamins and other substances to help hair grow, or limiting washing our hair often. However, these efforts are often less effective and rarely address the root of the problem. 

If you are experiencing hair loss, here are some tips for you: 

HAIR WASHING AND CONDITIONING 

  • It would help if you only used gentle shampoos that do not contain silicone ingredients. 
  • Use moisturizing oil or dry conditioner after each shampoo. Applying this method will help reduce hair loss and split ends, making hair smoother. 
  • Avoid using heat to dry your hair; instead, wrap your hair in a small towel to help your hair dry faster and reduce drying time. 

HOT OIL HAIR TREATMENT SHOULD NOT BE USED 

Hot oil therapy with coconut or olive oil quickly heats the hair, making it more brittle. 

STOP Dyeing, Perming, and Straightening Your Hair Using Chemicals at Home 

RESTRICT USE OF HAIR CURLER, HAIR CLIPPER, AND HOT COMB: Because using these frequently will weaken the hair, use a low temperature setting when using. 

STOP PUTTING YOUR HAIR IN A HIGH BUN, Ponytail, Braiding: Frequent hairstyles like these can cause hair loss called traction alopecia. Over time, it can cause permanent hair loss. You need to change to limit this type of hair loss. 

STOP THE HABIT OF TWISTING YOUR HAIR AROUND YOUR FINGERS OR PULLING IT TOUGH: These habits can weaken already fragile hair, causing more hair to fall out. And pulling too hard on your hair while brushing can lead to hair loss. 

STOP SMOKING: Smoking causes inflammation, which can worsen hair loss. 

EAT HEALTHY: Eating too few calories daily can cause significant hair loss. Before supplementing with substances to help hair growth, determine if you are taking enough vitamins or minerals. For example, iron and protein deficiencies can lead to hair loss. 

Be careful with dietary supplements advertised to stimulate hair growth but have not been licensed by health authorities. If you have decided to try these supplements, you should be cautious because they do more harm than good. Excessive intake of essential nutrients (including selenium, vitamin E, and vitamin A) has been linked to hair loss.
