Fruit Juice: How Much Is Enough For Kids?

American Academy of Pedicatrics (AAP) recommends that:

No Fruit juice for infants under 12 months of age as fruit juice offers no nutritional benefit. For children older 1 year, it can be a healthy part of the diet but the intake of juice should be limited depending on a child's age.

✅For toddlers age 1 to 3: not over 120ml per day
✅For children age 4 to 6: 120ml - 180ml per day
✅For children ages 7-18: about 250ml per day.

  • Whole fruits provide more fiber and nutrients than fruit juices.
  • Avoid drinking fruit juice before bedtime as well as using it for dehydration and diarrhea treatmnet.
