Parents often want to examine their babies by the endoscopic method. There are also many places that rely on endoscopy for all the cased even mild ill. According to ENT expert, just the flashlight, the tongue stick, waiting for the baby to cry or loudly say "A" will also detect common ENT diseases. So when do children need ENT endoscopy?

Nanoscopy is necessary in cases

  • Nosebleed
  • Prolonged runny nose
  • Nasal congestion, nasal itching is not relieved and recur frequently
  • Children often clear their throat
  • Unilateral foul discharge: usually caused by a foreign object in the nose
  • Monitoring for treatment of rhinitis sinus, VA inflammation, ...
  • Face and nose injury

Endoscopy is essential in cases

  • Ear pain (young children are often fussy, stop feeding, rub their ears, etc) can be caused by ear infections, middle ear infections. 
  • Ear discharge (fluid with different colors combined bad smell sometimes). Suspected symptoms of otitis media, mastoiditis. 
  • Tinnitus or unilateral hearing loss 
  • Discomfort in the ears: itchy ears (ear fungus),  do an endoscopy to eliminate some diseases such as ear canal tumors, ear canal
  • Foreign object in the ears (stuffing itself, insects)
  • Monitor for treatment

Thoracoscopy is necessary in cases

  • Prolonged hoarseness
  • Breaking bones, swallowing objects
  • Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing

Rigid bronchoscopes will be used for older children while young children may use a flexible bronchoscope.

Is ENT laparoscopy hurt? ENT laparoscopy is a non-invasive, painless, or very little painful procedure if the patient cooperates well. In the case of children who are difficult to cooperate with, the doctor will use a flexible bronchoscope without pain.
