.When to extract wisdom teeth?

.When to extract wisdom teeth?

Wisdom teeth - the third-largest molar is located behind each corner of your jaw. Normally, when you are 17-21 years old, wisdom teeth appear and each person has 4 wisdom teeth growing in the four corners of the jaw. Wisdom teeth will be investigated in terms of number and growth trend through pandore film (Panorex) or Cone-beam CT. However, some cases do not have all 4 wisdom teeth and it is normal (about 53% of people have at least 1 wisdom teeth).

No not need to remove wisdom teeth if:

  • Does not harm the next tooth

  • Not unusual in shape

  • Grows straight and fits well with their opposite teeth

  • Can be cleaned with basic daily hygiene measures

However, many times wisdom teeth don't have enough room to grow properly and can cause problems. When wisdom teeth erupt, they can grow at different angles in the jaw, sometimes even horizontally. The problem can include:

  • Has grown but not found on the mouth (hidden under the bones, gums). Occasionally, this implicit wisdom tooth can lead to infection or it may cause another root-damage cyst (root destruction, pulp necrosis) and destruction of the jaw bone (jaw bone cyst).

  • Wisdom teeth pop up 1 part on the gum Because this area is difficult to see and difficult to clean, partially erupting wisdom teeth create a pathway for gum disease-causing bacteria and oral infections (gingivitis), which progressively causes swelling of the face and jaw ( cellulitis).

  • The wisdom teeth have seen the chewing surface on the mouth but are inclined to the next teeth or the wisdom teeth deviate from the cheek or the tongue. This will cause food stuffing between the wisdom tooth - the next tooth and is difficult to clean, facilitating the progression of the next wisdom tooth decay.

Some doctors recommend proactively pulling wisdom teeth out when they have not fully grown. Many doctors believe that it is better to have wisdom teeth removed at a young age, before the root is fully formed, and then recovery is usually faster after minor surgery. This is why some of you have wisdom teeth extracted before the tooth was causing the problem.

According to the American Dental Association, the removal of wisdom teeth may be necessary if you have wisdom tooth problems such as:

  • Pain

  • Infections of the gum tissue in the wisdom tooth region, repeated

  • Swelling of the face due to wisdom teeth

  • Cysts caused by wisdom teeth

  • Damage to adjacent teeth, opposite teeth

  • Biting his cheek

  • Caries

When you have a wisdom tooth problem, you should make an appointment with a dental specialist to be examined, photographed, consulted and have appropriate treatment directions. You will undergo gentle wisdom tooth extraction, with less pain by a specialist with sterile instruments, low-traumatic extraction and good postoperative care.
