With time as a function, both individual and contextual factors shape financial health. Boosting financial health requires strengthening people’s ability to generate, maintain, and replenish savings and other financial assets. Tune in on 2nd November to hear from experts as they discuss drivers and constituents of financial health.

Financial health is a multifaceted concept that offers a more holistic picture of the associated drivers. Apart from psychological biases and varying financial capabilities, it also considers socio-economic factors such as gender and social norms at play. These factors ensure that various facets of inclusion are covered while measuring the impact.

Financial health has contributed significantly to the way the global development community thinks about financial inclusion. However, financial health is still a new concept. The conversation around such novice concepts would enhance awareness. Besides, it would also support the design of financial products covering aspects beyond accessibility and usability.

The proposed webinar “Financial Health: Research Findings from Bangladesh and Vietnam” is a policy dialogue event for the Financial Inclusion Week 2021. The Financial Inclusion Week 2021 is organized by the Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI), Accion. The proposed webinar will facilitate a dialogue and exchange of learnings around financial health and its implications. The webinar will seek to support the following outcomes:

  • Deepen the understanding around financial health, its constituents, and its drivers
  • Learnings around some of the major initiatives in the world taken to build financial health of a community and its impact
  • Role of various stakeholders in enhancing the financial health of a community
  • Understand the factors which impede the financial health of the women community and learnings around possible solutions to overcome those challenges
